Disposable gas cylinders are commonly used in gas soldering. There are several types; Mapp gas, butane, propane or a butane and propane mix. Mapp gas burns longer and far hotter than propane which means you can solder faster normally within 5-10 seconds of heating. This type of gas is ideal for high performance soldering types of work. Butane produces the lowest of temperatures of all gas canisters and can be used for soft soldering. Propane has a high heat output and is suitable for most brazing or soldering work. Or go for a butane and propane mix which gives more heat than just butane with flame temperatures up to 1750°C, they can be used in most types of blow lamp at temperatures as low as -15°C
